No, it wouldn't. Is it standard or automatic? If it's standard and shifts hard, check the clutch and clutch barring. If it's auto, check the tranny fluid level ... not much else you can do with an auto.
Try changing your PCV valve it messes with the idle control. and shifting prob is likely in tranny and may not be related at all. try PCV valve and have your tranny serviced.
automatic transmissions have a slave valve to control shifting
Absolutely!
Not likely. It would mainly cause a poor running engine.
could be a bad modulator valve but i would change filter and fluid in transmission first
Most likely pressure control solenoid in transmission....Easily tested with proper scan tool ALSO try changing EGR valve. Will REALLY HELP!!!! I just changed mine, all my hard shifting and jerking in reverse went away.
What are you doing shifting gears or changing the slave cylinder? If your going thou the gears 1 for 1 and for the ceilnder till all the air is out but make shore to open and close the valve as your pumping it.
If it a manual transmission it could be fluid level/needs changing, shifting fork/linkage or syncro issues. If it is an automatic, the fluid level/condition can affect shifting, also if the valves in the valve body are sticking. The transmission can also just need rebuilding, clutches are worn.
The year, make and engine info would be helpful.
There is no difference between check valve and NRV, both are same
Your meaning is unclear. Your system will already have pressure switch, -why would you need a pressure valve?- or are you unaware of the difference between a valve and a switch.
On a 1997 Volkswagen Jetta, the shifting solenoids are situated inside the valve body of the transmission. The valve body is the brain of the transmission.
