Would it be worth buying an Xbox 360 with a hardrive if you are only going to be playing games and not downloading anything or Xbox live?
If you are going to just play the games with no intention of saving and game information, such as profiles, settings, etc., then you should be fine with an Xbox without a Hard drive. You might even be fine with a memory card for the Xbox. I personally like to play games and save profiles, settings, achievements and my advancement in the games so I need a hard drive. You can always buy the Xbox with no Hard drive and if you realize you need it later one, purchase it separately.

if you download it onto your hardrive you folders will be fine but if you download it and reformat the system all you files will be lost so i would advise to put all your folders onto a internal hardrive (portal hardrive or a memory stick) i also wouldn't advice downloading vista because i had vista for about a year and it started to randomly i would advise downloading windows 7 or buying it :/

Well without downloading anything you will get limited features. But you can make a 3d game with challengeyou. Just google it. Bare in mind there is not much you can do with it. I would really recommend downloading game maker or something though.
