It is possible depending on what year and model you have. if you have a single din radio then you can replace it with a after-market radio that has a retractable touch screen. If you have a double din radio then it can be replaced with one that has a built in touch screen. You can also go as far as buying a new center dash piece that has a double din slot.
There are several tutorials on this on a couple of different Mercedes-Benz forums but you will have to find those on your own as it is against the rules to post links here.

The Nokia 7705 Twist has a touch screen. The buttons on the left and tight side of the directional keys are touch screen, but when you try to use the directional keys, the left and right touch screen presses itself. The touch screen is very sensitive and I would not recommend the phone. It is very frustrating and it isn't worth the $150. I would definitely recommend the LG Chocolate Touch. :)
