Medicinal marijuana is typically only prescribed for chronic pain, meaning, intolerable, and incurable day to day pain (back pain is likely most common). If your shingles outbreaks are frequent and or pain management is a long-term issue, I don't see why not. Pain from shingles can last long (sometimes forever) after the infection subsides. This is due to nerve damage that the virus can cause. If this is the case for you, this would be considered "chronic pain" and you would be eligible for a prescription.
