Scientists strongly disagree about US and global warming! If pollutants cause global warming, strong anti-pollution laws in the US over the last 30 years would deter warming. Yet, events in one country affect all countries, such as bombs and volcanoes that throw dust in the air, droughts with dust storms and winds, and social / farming practices like illegal slash-burning of crops in Indonesia. The ice is melting; we have more violent storms.

However, other scientists say the Earth goes through cycles of extreme heat and extreme cold. They say our global temp and weather changes are just part of this overall cycle.

Should scientists be concerned if they cannot prove that global warming is happening?

Scientists would be relieved if they had not been able to prove that global warming is happening. They could move on and investigate more fruitful areas of science, feeling that at least this is one problem they do not have to worry about. It is because scientists have proven that global warming is happening that they are concerned.

What temperature would it be without global warming?

It is difficult to determine an exact temperature without global warming, as natural climate variability would still exist. However, scientists estimate that without human-induced global warming, average temperatures would likely be lower than they are today.

Why do scientists use the rules for determining significant figures?

If they did not use rules all their calculations would simply lead to random digits!

Global warming is not a threat to polar ice?

Global Warming is a threat to Polar Ice. Because of rising temperatures in the polar regions, the ice caps are melting. Scientists predict that in a few decades from now, the polar ice caps would have fully melted.

Why didn't anyone realize a long time ago that global warming would exist eventually?

They did realize, a long time ago, that global warming would exist eventually. As long ago as the nineteenth century, climate scientists began to recognise that if we continued to add carbon dioxide to the atmosphere, average global temperatures would rise accordingly. However, carbon dioxide emissions were still low by today's standards and the scientists felt that this would occur too far off in the future to be a concern for them. It was only in the second half of the twentieth century that scientists began to realise that global warming was underway and that it posed a real risk to humanity within a relatively short period of time.

Which experiment described below would have the greatest certainty of generalization?

Thirty scientists' measurements of fifty study subjects' choice of beverage every day in the hot summer.

How is Global Warming a Scam?

The science of global warming could be a scam if someone had anything to gain by it. Yet scientists resisted the idea that they should be concerned about the possibility for almost a century after the possibility of anthropogenic global warming was first identified. No scientist has anything to gain by creating a hoax. In fact, any evidence that a research scientist has engaged in a scam would be career-destroying.

Is there a valid way to study global warming?

The most valid way to study global warming is through history. Scientists observe the past occurances of climate, environment, atmosphere, etc., to understand the way global warming is developing over time. To gain the most insight on global warming, it would be wise to work alongside someone who is studying it themselves. Global warming is simply a matter of tracking trends and analyzing patterns to make inferences. If you are doing this, you are studying global warming,

Why is the study of global warming complicated?

Well, for one, there is a lot of controversy over this topic. Many think global warming is produced by cars, trains, etc. Others think it is just the climate changes that cause global warming. Others think there is none at all. Here is the silly thing. Scientists presently are saying that global warming is a problem. However, a little less than a century ago, scientists were scared that an ice age would end the world. That is probably why it is complicated, because there are so many viewpoints. Hope this helps

Do scientists agree about the causes of global warming?

The scientific consensus on global warming developed in the 1980s, when it became clear that human activity was primarily driving earth's rapid temperature change. The scientific consensus has strengthened in the intervening 30 years, though political opposition to the findings has also, almost incongruously, increased.

Why do some scientists think that global warming would increase the strength of hurricanes?

Hurricanes get their energy from the warmth of oceans.

An increase in which gas would cause the most greenhouse warming of Earth's atmosphere?

An increase in carbon dioxide would contribute the most to greenhouse warming of Earth's atmosphere due to its high abundance and long atmospheric lifetime. Other important greenhouse gases include methane and water vapor, but their warming effects are generally less significant compared to carbon dioxide.
