The Great Persecution of Christians began under Emperor Diocletian from 303 and lasted until 311 in the eastern empire, but only until 305 in the west. Yet it is the western empire that eventually failed in 476 CE.

Some say that although the empire was already in decline, Constantine hastened that decline. However there is no evidence that Constantine became emperor as a result of the Great Persecution. Nor is there any evidence that the unsustainable financial patronage that he gave to Christianity was a direct response to the Great Persecution.

The one tenuous link between the persecution of Christians and the fall of the western empire is that the policy of persecution and the culture of book burning that took place under the Christian emperors might have been a robust response to the period known as the Great Persecution, since these factors contributed to the advent of the Dark Ages. Apart from this, it is difficult to find any link between the persecution of Christians and the failure of the Roman Empire.

How did the romans kill chistans?

Because it was considered to be a popular event. It was very popular to kill Christians back then. The reason why most of the Roman emperors killed Christians was because there were a lot of Roman empers that wanted to be worshiped as gods. The name of the Roman emperor that stopped these events was Constantine. Constantine made it legal to be a Christian and he made Christianity the official religion of the Roman empire. The Romans are the ones who spread Christianity throughout the Roman world. Therefore there were lots of Christians in the time of Constantine. The Roman empire stretched from the U.K (England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland) and Spain to the orient, it also contained a huge chunk of North Africa. The Roman Empire was one of the world's largest empires during the time of the ancient world.

Some of his deeds are probably mythical or, at the very least, exaggerated. Dragons have never existed. Perhaps he did kill some animal that was threatening a town such as a crocodile, but it is unlikely he could have slayed a dragon.

What was St. George famous for?

He purportedly slayed a dragon. Since dragons do not exist, it must have been some other animal, such as a crocodile, that he killed. We will never know. However, he is also famous for refusing a direct order from his superiors in the Roman army to persecute and kill Christians. That deed earned for him the crown or martyrdom as he was beheaded for not following orders.

How did St. Sebastian express his faith?

We do not know that much about Sebastian except that he was a well educated and respected officer in the Roman army and a favorite of the emperor. He was a Christian and refuse to take part in the persecution and murder of Christians. For this he suffered martyrdom twice. The first time he was shot with a number of arrows and left for dead. He survived and returned to preach the Gospel. The emperor then had him beaten to death.
