yes!
your starter probably.
The starter could grind if the bendix is sticking
you will hear a loud screeching noise from where the starter is trying to engage with the flywheel...if these cogs are worn the starter will slip and make this noise.
If it is a single click, the problem is either a loose battery cable or a faulty starter relay/solenoid. If the symptom is rapid clicking, the battery is probaly low.
A bad starter might make a noise. The starter could also go bad with no noise or warning. However if the starter is making noise then there is a problem that could cause failure at any time
Click clack noise
Depends on what's wrong with the starter, exactly. It could be whirring sound, a clicking sound, no sound at all, etc.
I COULD BE THAT IT IS NOT LINED UP, NEEDS SHIMMS
My first thought is that it may be on the flywheel, or it could be the starter is not the correct one for your make and model..just food for thought..
When the battery does not have enough voltage to turn the starter over it will sometimes make a clicking noise.
"make some noise" is a commonly used concert starter in almost every genre of music
starter motor slipping! replace or rebuild!
