No. The problem is most likely your heater core. Ask a mechanic.

It is no longer necessary to add just water to a radiator in newer cars like the 2005 Malibu. An antifreeze that is half water and half antifreeze is usually best. Add the 50/50 antifreeze to the radiator overflow tank. It should be a plastic, see through tank hooked to the radiator.

The Chevrolet Malibu radiator drain plug can be found on the right side of the radiator. The drain plug will be at the bottom of the radiator.

Drain rad at the petcock on rad or remove an end of the lower hose. Add 50/50 antifreeze/water to radiator. Leave cap off and run motor for 20 minutes to bleed air out and then top off the radiator. Install cap. Done. I hope this helps you. Mark
