How do you cure infant hives?

Infant hives (or if chronic is called 'urticaria') is an allergy or allergies which and can appear on the lips, tongue, eyes, hands and feet and can be caused by: * Cold * Heat * Sunlight * Water * Pollens * Dander (no pets!) * Mold spores * Foods * Drugs * Insects Food allergies only account for 5% of the cause of hives in infants. If the hives are chronic it has been associated with infection - viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitic. Working with your doctor is important. He/she may try the infant on a type of medication. The good news is that often these hives will only last about a year and many children with high allergies will outgrow them. Can THC in marijuania cause hives?

Unlikely specifically for THC. However, pesticides uses, scent-masking chemicals and aromas, etc. CAN DEFINITELY cause hives...from 1st hand experience. Marijuana is a Weed (hence the name) and some people ARE allergic to it like any other plant. Benedryl can help, but with both of them in your system, you're Definitely gonna need a nap! Some hives can come from irritation, not allergy. Some chemicals (see above- pesticides, et al.) can lower your body's pH balance and this can cause hives among other things. Try drinking a teaspoon or 2 of baking soda in a glass of water twice a day...my hives were due to my pH going too acidic. a few days of avoiding acidic foods and drinks along with the baking soda corrected the issue

What causes hives?

Hives is an allergic reaction. The physical manifestation of "hives," also called urticaria is caused by localized capillary leak, usually caused by histamine release from eosinophils and mast cells as a result of an allergic reaction. There are other causes, however. Some people have a genetic predisposition to developing hives, some medications can cause a histamine release that is not related to an allergic reaction that can cause an urticarial rash. Hives can be caused by many sources. Acute hives are not long lasting, and typically can clear up on their own or be alleviated with the use of anti-histamines. In this case, most causes might include food allergies, allergic reactions to medication, dyes, stress, gluten intolerance, or general intolerance to something in your diet. Chronic urticaria (the given name for long lasting hives) is usually harder to deduce. Heat, physical stimulus, water, sometimes parasites, infections can all be linked as known causes of long-term hives.
