To alienate someone, essentially, means to leave someone out of something purposely. An example sentence would be: Don't alienate others, as you yourself would not want to be alienated.
To suit yourself is to do what pleases you. You use this phrase most often when someone has expressed a desire to do something you either would not do or have no wish to do.
As a guess, he knew no other commander would volunteer for something that would be a complete slaughter. And, perhaps, as the Colonel of a black regiment, he knew if he didn't volunteer his men, they would be ordered to do it.
"Slut," is a harsh term to use for yourself. If that's what you think of yourself; if that's how you behave, first stop abusing yourself by allowing yourself to be used. Do things to improve your self-esteem--real things, volunteer work, taking on a valid cause, reading, joinging clubs like rock climbing, gymnastics; make something meaningful of yourself--defining yourself as a slut, is hardly meaningful. I think you have to live your life and wait for something that sticks .it either has to suit your personality or just an abbreviation of your name . the best way (in my opinion) would be to get someone you know to think of something similar to yourself .
If this thing you're hiding from them is something about them aswell then yes, but it really depends on how they would feel if they found out not through you. You should ask yourself this question and do what you feel is right.
It's called volunteer work. It's called volunteer work. It's called volunteer work. It's called volunteer work. It's called volunteer work. It's called volunteer work.
Then, in my view, your not talking love but obsession. I would think something in the individuals self is missing and is despirately in need of fulfillment. It important to be content with yourself before you invite someone else into your heart in such a meaningful way.
