One fundamental law of science is the Law of Conservation of Mass. Generally speaking, mass cannot be created out of nothing. Thus, if we consider the mass of the Earth, any change in the Earth's mass must be caused by something that has been added from outside the Earth (like a comet) or something that has left the Earth (like a space probe gone to Jupiter to take pictures). Because babies are not physically brought from outside the Earth to the Earth, the mass of the Earth does not change.

The only way the mass of the Earth could appreciably increase is if Mr. Stork brought girls from Venus and boys from Mars to Earth.

The earth is gaining mass (not weight; the earth is weightless since it is not resting in a gravitational field), Our bodies are simply re-distributed bio-mass. However, the earth is bombarded by space dust and debris constantly, and the daily amount would be measured in tons. So, earth is constantly gaining mass.

"Yes, but in a very minute quantity."

Actually, no...the amount of people on the planet should not affect it's weight. Everything that makes our bodies was already on Earth to begin with. Accumulation of debris (dust, meteorites, etc) from outer space is one of the few factors that contributes to changes in the planet's mass.

Yes. Gravity is related to mass. Increase the mass of the earth, and its gravity--and thus your weight--will increase.

Does the gravitational force affect measuring the weight and mass of an object on earth and mars?

A different amount of gravitational force will change the weight, but not the mass.

Is weight a measure of earth's pull of gravity?

Weight is what we call the amount of the gravitational force between the Earth and an object on the surface of the Earth. It works both ways. Your weight on the Earth is also the Earth's weight on you.

What is the diffrerence between mass and weight?

Mass is constant. You have the same amount of mass wherever you are in the Universe. Weight is the affect of gravity acting on your mass. So you weigh 1/6th as much on the Moon because there is less gravity there but you have the same amount of mass as you do on Earth.

How does clouds affect people and season?

Clouds come in different types etc. Different types of clouds appear at different times and affect the amount of sun light that reaches the Earth, the amount of rain etc.

Does tilt affect the amount of solar energy earth receives?

No, the tilt of the earth doesn't affect the amount of solar energy received from the sun. It does mean that at different seasons, different parts of the earth will get more than others, but the overall amount remains the same.

What is weight based on?

The amount of gravitational pull the earth has on an object.

Is weight the amount of gravitational force between it and earth?

yes

What factors affect the weight of an object on Earth?

Only the object's mass.

What would happen if everyone in the world jumped at one time?

It depends. if they're all in the same area, it would be like someone punching the earth. The amount of weight of all the people, is how much force would be apilied. if the weight of the people is higher then the weight of earth, it would go flying through space.

How do rotation and tilt affect the amount of solar energy that different parts of earth receive?

Rotation and tilt affect the amount of solar energy the earth receives because when the earth is tilted and or rotating, one specific part of the earth is more directed towards the sun then all the others.

How do plants on earth affect the amount of carbon in earth's atmosphere?

It can regulate carbon because plants need it to live.

How did fossil affect what people thought about creature on Earth?

Fossils affect how people think about ancient creatures of Earth. The fossils show animals that people did not previously know existed.
