hey... i was doing a project that was on tuck everlasting by Natalie babbitt.. my teacher made me write the advantages and disadvantages of immportality... i have so far come up with:
- It would be sad to watch so many members of your family die before you
- You'd have to put up with a lot of stuff going on around the media.
- It's hard to adjust to so many changes in the world
- By that time most of the sons, their sons and also their sons would die before eyes and
one should suffer that grief.
- Being unable to be rid of things you do not like
- Degeneration of the world
Some disadvantages of immortality include potential boredom from experiencing everything multiple times, witnessing loved ones age and die while enduring eternal life, and feeling disconnected from the natural cycle of life and death. Additionally, immortality may lead to a sense of loneliness and isolation as one outlives all those around them.
Advantages of immortality include the ability to experience life without the fear of death and the opportunity to accumulate vast knowledge and wisdom over time. However, disadvantages may include seeing loved ones age and pass away, potential feelings of loneliness or boredom from living indefinitely, and the impact on the environment and resources due to a growing immortal population.
Immortality typically refers to the state of living forever, without being limited by the constraints of time. While death is often associated with the passage of time, immortality symbolizes a state beyond the limitations of time, where an entity exists eternally without the concept of death.
Plato believed in the immortality of the human soul, seeing it as eternal and existing before and after life on Earth. However, Aristotle did not share this view; he saw the soul as mortal and intrinsically connected to the body, ceasing to exist upon death. Aristotle believed the soul was the form of the body and not a separate entity.
Yes, Socrates believed in the immortality of the soul and the distinction between the body and the soul. This suggests a form of dualism in his philosophical views.
Displacement of traditional cultures and practices. Increased inequality and social disparities. Environmental degradation and natural resource depletion.
