Y is my 91 s10 gas hand not working Ive traced the wires from gas tank to a 85 wiring harness they are gray and purple when gray is hooked up it goes quarter tank when purple is hooked up its past ful?

Had similar problem, 91 is fuel injected 85 is not they use different sending units in tank. Have different power supplies 91 for fuel pump other for sender to guage.

It will pull right out, it might need a little tug. It looks like a circuit board. The purple wire is attached to the resistor and will have to be unplugged from the van.
