Just start a conversation with her, get to know her as well as you can. Do things together that you both like to do, and do things that she likes, even if you don't like it. See if you have anything in common. Just be yourself. Eventually the awkwardness will go away.

1800's Building materials included: Wood, Mud and Clay, Rock and stone. However, wood is till used but is being replaced with plastic due to its fire danger. Rock isn't being used anymore because of its heaviness and awkwardness. Its also very hard to keep hot without lots of heating resources. And finally, mud and clay have now been replaced with cement and/or bricks.
