Well honestly, when the 17 year old turns 18, he or she can be in trouble in the family does not approve. He or she is better off staying away from him or her. 13 year old is considered a child, no matter how matture they seem. A 17 year old has lived through life that a 13 year old has not yet, and is simple just not old enough to be involved with anyone who is legal. Although I do agree the law has its flaws because I can understand a 17 and an 18 yr old dating. But it pretty much is too much of a risk to even be worth anything. You can be a registered sex offender for it, and you can be innocent. The law is there to protect children and help prevent the real pedofiles from harming them.
