this used to be a fairly simple process however there is a comprehensive and new Immigration law that will change matters substantially.
1.) you now need to show real proof of the validity of the marriage (they are trying to do away with fake or arranged paperwork marriages
2.) the time for approval after passage and implementation of this new law is unknown as of yet but in the past it has run from several months to up to 2 years. it should be noted that in the meantime applicants enjoy added protection and benefits just by virtue of the residency application.
