You are going through gas like crazy and can smell fuel when you drive this 90 Tempo GL you have located the fuel filter under the hood and by the tank you see no evidence of leaks any suggestions?

It might be time for a tune up. My '92 Tempo GL was getting about 5 miles to the gallon and I smelled gas almost all the time. Turns out 2 of the spark plugs weren't correctly seated in the engine, now I'm getting upwards of 22 mpg.
