It you are a UK citizen and marry whilst the UK is still in the EU then the new wife will come under the EU laws and be allowed to stay in the UK. However, if you marry and decide to move back to the UK following the UK transition they there appears to be a requirement that you will need a citizenship application for your wife. In these cases your first step is to speak to the British Consulate as soon as possible to get their guidance on the matter
