This is a job for your godparents. Do you know who they are, and do they live within an easy drive of your home? If your Mom and Dad trusted them to be your godparents, I'll bet they would be able to trust them to have you join them when they attend the local church. If your godparents don't live nearby, do you go to CCD (Catholic religious education classes)? If so, could you ask your CCD teacher for help with arranging to join another family for Mass on Sunday? Perhaps your teacher or the parents of one of the other kids in your class could arrange for you to join them on most Sundays. The other resource might be to go to your pastor or one of the other priests of your parish and ask them if they know of a family who would be willing to have you join them for Sunday Mass, including providing a ride to and from church. Most Catholic families would welcome the opportunity to help in this way, and would be glad to have you join them.

It's great that you have a strong desire to go to church, even at a young age. It's important to respect your parents' decisions and try to understand their reasons. You can try having an open and honest conversation with them, expressing your feelings and asking if they would be open to compromise, such as attending church on special occasions or finding alternative ways to celebrate your faith at home.

What can you do if your wife wants to have your baby baptized in the Catholic church and you dont?

You should continue to discuss this. A child has the right to be baptized if the parents are willing to do the best they can to bring up the child as Catholic, even if only one does. But if you are disagreeing in this perhaps you can have someone faciliate the discussion. It is not the intent of the church to create family conflicts over what should be a happy occasion. If you were marired in the Catholic Church the catholic oarty took an oath to do the best he or she can to bring up the children as Catholic.

How can a child of a Lutheran and Catholic parent be baptised to make both parents happy?

A person can only be baptized once so baptizing in both churches would be redundant. Generally, when a non-Catholic marries a Catholic they are required to affirm that any children must be raised as Catholics before the Church will allow them to marry. Therefore, if they were married in a Catholic church the children should be baptized in a Catholic church. If the parents were not married in a Catholic church, then they have another problem. They need to regularize their marriage to be in full communion with the Catholic Church. They must arrange to have their marriage blessed by the Catholic Church.

Are you Catholic if your father was Catholic but is something else now?

How does the status of ones fathers belief system have any baring on ones own belief system? Catholocism is only hereditary in the sense that ones parents teach their kids to believe the teachings of catholicism. One can easily learn these teachings from a friend or TV or any other means. If they chose to believe the teachings of Catholicism, then they can go to a Catholic church and go through the sacriments and join the Church regardless of what there father has or ever will believe. Likewise one can easily reject the teachings of their catholic parents and leave the church, they do not remain catholic just because their parents are catholic.Roman Catholic AnswerYou are Catholic if you have ever been baptized in the Catholic Church or if you have been validly baptized in a Christian denomination and received into the Church.
