You are trying to make a perfect selection in photoshop using the elliptical margue tool but all you get are ovals or circles that are off how do you edit the selection?

Go to the Select menu, and select Transform Selection. You can then edit the selection by dragging top & bottom or side edges of the bounding box to size the shape any way you want.
