Leave, it is not your problem whether the other person shows up or not!!!:)

It will be your problem if you take the Answer 1's advice.

First, wait a bit. Sometimes people run late, maybe you've even run late before. No need to panic.

Second, call the person who is to relieve you, and see if they're okay, and still coming in. You could wait till five after, or call at once if you're really antsy.

Third, assuming that it's at least 10 past, if not 15 past, call your boss and let them know what is going on. He's going to ask if you can do a double, or if you can stay till he finds relief, or until he can come down.

Now while I get that sometimes everyone has really pressing business, you must ask yourself at that point if the appointment you may have is more important than your job. You should, short of a real life or death emergency, stay till relief arrives.

And if you do that cheerfully, your boss will be thinking good thoughts about you. That may mean a raise or an opportunity later that you ordinarily would not have had. It at least is "good girl or good boy" credit for if you are ever late or mess up!
