Did you get or see a title when you purchased the car? If the dealer knowingly sold you a salvage vehicle without full disclosure, ask for a refund or threaten legal action. It's illegal not to disclose such info. This is not the case for a private seller.

How do you get a title for a motorcycle that was bought from a salvage yard?

DMV...it would be a salvage title which will kill the resell value of the bike....could try and get a lost title instead, some states offer this instead of the salvage title

What happens if you buy a car unaware of salvage title?

what happens if you buy a car unaware of salvage title? well, if it was from a dealer you have recourse. if it's from a private seller, too bad...UNLESS they sold you the car with a clean title when they knew it was salvage. did you look at the title before you bought the car? if it was clearly branded as salvage or totaled you're out of luck but if it was a clean title when it actually wasn't you can try and get a refund from the seller or sue. If you sue you will have prove the seller knew the title was salvage at the time of sale. good luck!!

We bought a vehicle with an undisclosed Rebuilt Salvage Title in Kansas is there recourse?

In Kansas a private sell doesn't have to disclose a Salvage title

You bought a used car and when you tried to trade it in they said it has a salvage title six months after you bought the car?

That means that at some point the car was wrecked so severely that the cost to repair it exceeded 75% of the value of the car. The car was therefore totaled and sold to a salvage yard. The salvage yard sold the car to someone who repaired it and sold it with the required salvage title. You should have noticed the salvage title when you bought the car.

You bought a car from a dealer he did not disclose that the car has a salvage title is there any recorse?

Not all states require a salvage title. Any recourse would have to be determined by the laws of the state in which you currently reside. If your state does require a salvage title, then the dealer is responsible for making sure you have that information. A lot of dealers buy vehicles from auction houses around the country and they may have gotten a vehicle that they didn't know that information or the state where it was purchased didn't require a salvage title. So you will need to look at your state laws and also the total history of the vehicle to see what laws apply.

You bought a car with a salvage title you lost the title what should you do?

Apply for a replacement title through your state DMV.

If you buy a salvage vehicle with no title and repair it how do you get a title?

When you bought the salvage, the junk yard should've given you a 'salvage' title. You don't buy cars without getting a title. Talk to your state DMV and hopefully it's not stolen! Good luck.

Can a dealer ask you to return a new car if your trade-in is later found to have had a salvage rebuilt title?

Well, if you knowingly traded in a salvage/rebuilt car with a wrong/clean title he has the right to sue you for the extra money he gave you for your trade in since a salvage car is worth roughly 40% less than a comparable clean titled car. Did you sign over a salvage title when you traded the car in? If so, he has no legal recourse since the salvage title is clearly marked and it's his problem.
