CTRL+1
Ctrl - 1 opens the Format Cells dialog box.
There are different formats available, such as General, Currency, Percentage, Scientific, Accounting and Fraction. You can apply them through buttons on the ribbons or toolbars, by going to the Format Cells dialog box and by shortcut keys. For example Ctrl - Shift - 5 will put them into Percentage format and Ctrl - Shift - 4 will put them into Currency format.

Keep hold of the Ctrl key when you are selecting separate cells with the mouse. You can also press the F8 key and using the cursor keys select some cells. The press Shift-F8 and it will stop selecting and then using the cursor keys you can move to another part of the worksheet and press F8 again and start selecting with the cursor keys and the initial selection will remain selected. Press F8 again to stop completely.

The action assigned to shortcut keys can be different in different applications. In the case of Microsoft Excel, Ctrl+1 is a useful shortcut to the format dialog, where you can assign cell formats, borders, etc.
For a low G, you press the B, A, and G keys. For a high G, press the B, A, G, and octave keys.
