Now, if it spoils, then that is a chemical change! You can tell by a change in color, smell and inability to change it back to its original state.

Diffusion is a change of state. A good example of diffusion is when you can smell something cooking that is in another room. Moisture in the food evaaporates and the gas formed is diffused and you can smell it. I'm not sure that I'm right but i learnt about diffusion in science recently ;-)
