You should "immediately back up your data and replace your hard disk drive".
If the hard drive is throwing "bad sectors", the OS will detect it and TRY to help you out as much as it can, but once the hard drive starts to fail you don't really have many options. I WOULD, however, verify that it's the hard drive and not the controller. If you can find it, see about plugging in the drive to another computer just to check it out. There are USB to IDE cable adapters that will let you plug in your hard drive to another computer. Mine has a connection option for SATA as well. They are relatively inexpensive and will end up costing much less than a trip to a tech.
