What is cable connect to hub for lan?

In most cases it will be an Ethernet cable with an RJ45 head, both Cat5 and Cat6 Ethernet cables will do. Go into a good electronics store and ask for an Ethernet cable of your desired length, they'll normally be able to make one for you.

In many cases it does, but I have purchased them both ways.

You just had cable IP it works with USB but not with Ethernet they put in a new card?

You likely need to reset the cable modem in order for the modem to locate the physical address of your new Ethernet card. Make sure the Ethernet cable is properly connected to both the modem (or your router) and the Ethernet card at the back of the computer. Following tihs you may also want to restart your computer. You also need to make sure the driver is installed for the ethernet card. It should be located on OS or ethernet disk.

How do you hook up Ethernet cable to ps3?

You do not connect the PS3 ethernet cable to the computer. Just as you connect an ethernet cable to your PS3 to allow it to go online your computer may also have a spot to connect the ethernet cable to allow it to go online. The way the completed system will be set up is that ethernet cables are connected to a router for both the computer and the PS3 and the router is connected to the modem to allow online access to both your computer and the PS3. If you do not have a router you will need to purchase one and until then if you have a computer with online access the computer could be connected directly to the modem which you can unplug and plug in the PS3 to the modem with an ethernet cable. Then you go to network setting on the PS3 and complete the internet connection. In order to use your computer again online you need to unplug the PS3 and Plug the computer back in.

How do you get to your router from your computer?

Typically, one of three ways: An ethernet cable, which is the most common. Merely connect an ethernet cable to your computer and the router. A USB cable, less common. Same connection. A Wireless system (WiFi), becoming widespread. Requires WiFi antennas on both the router and the computer.

How do you connect 2 network switches together on the same network?

In the case of ethernet, you need a "crossover" ethernet cable connected between two regular ports or a regular ethernet cable connected to an "uplink port" on one switch and a regular port on the other. Uplink ports are sometimes called "MDI" ports. Both types of cable are available at most computer and office supply stores.

What do you need to get the ps3 to have a wired internet connection?

u need a broadband connection & an ethernet cable . and ether a modem or router or both

How do you perform wired connection on PS3?

Purchase an ethernet cable (I prefer a cat 6 but cat 5 will work). Next you need an internet connection and it has a monthly fee.. If you have a computer hooked up to the internet you have an internet connection. Plug the ethernet cable into the back of the PS3 and run the ethernet cable to your cable modem. Unplug your computer and plug in the PS3. If you want to keep both always wired then you need to purchase a router. Then you plug the modem into the router's in spot and both the PS3 and Computer into the router. If you only have dial up for your computer I have no Ideal if a connector is possible.

Would using a third nic with ethernet cable and ics software to share a cable modem connection with other computer increase the speed of the second computer which is using ics with a null modem serial?

Well, yes, the ethernet cable should run faster than the regular serial cable, but I don't think that would be the most efficient approach. You should add the NIC to the PC that doesn't have one, and then get a router to allow both PC's to access the cable modem. Adding the ethernet cable would only speed it up to the maximum speed allowed by your Cable Internet Provider

What do you need to connect your Ethernet network to the internet through a DSL or cable modem?

If you have an ethernet cable plug it into the modem and they should be connected. My Modem is connected with a router to the rest of the network and with the internet modem and is both wireless and wired
