There are several ways to get 1000 IU's of Vitamin D per day, but a "better" way depends upon your definition.
A 'good' way to get lots of Vitamin D is to expose your skin to the sun. If you expose your entire body for whatever amount of time it takes JUST BEFORE you get pink, you can make up to 20,000 IU's.
But dermatologists don't recommend this method of getting Vitamin D due to fears of skin cancer.
You CAN get your Vitamin D in foods, but you would need to drink 10 glasses of milk or 8 ounces of salmon every day to get that amount. Most people are not willing to do that.
More concerning is that your doctor told you to take 1000 IU's per day. According to most research, this will NOT correct your Vitamin D deficiency and is even too low for a maintenance dose. Many Vitamin D researchers are recommending a minimum of 2000 IU's per day every day for adults.
Be sure to get your Vitamin D level checked in a few months to see if the dose that you are taking is actually correcting your deficiency.

Mayans didnt use the word doctor as we do. Instead they had witch doctors who instead of inspecting patients and using meds to help us, the witch doctor would do dances and speak on behalf of the gods and kill people as sacrifices to their gods....
A typcial medical doctor probably doesnt have a PhD. Most doctors have MD degrees instead. Some medical doctors have done MD/PhD programs, but they primarily prepare candidates for research instead of practice
They had to send technicians because too many patients were needed for the doctors to attend so the doctors stayed in the hospital while the technicians were sent out

Yes I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, then the meds they put me on didn't work so I did some research and found my symptoms were a match for a hormonal imbalance. I took this research to my doctor, and he ran tests, and I was right! It was a hormonal imbalance. I am currently being treated for this instead of bipolar. Its very easy for doctors to make this mistake, as the symptoms of each are very similar.
a steroid for getting cutt instead of bulking.
