it depends, it might be a fuse, or you might have to get a new code for it. if its a fuse, take out the back seat, the fuse is in the fuse box, next to the battery. it should have a card that says what each fuse is for. usually its fuse number 5.
On a 2005 e320 4matic, the battery is located in the trunk. It is in the rear side, next to the spare wheel.
I had this problem with my CD Radio. I entered the code incorrectly on three occassions then it locked me out. I disconected the unit from the power supply and left it over night. The next day I entered the code as normal without any problems. That is asuming that you do have the correct code at the time of trying. If you do not have the code, you will need to take it to an auto radio teqhnition to re-blow the EPROM, he will then re-set the code, this may cost you, ask first for a price. Regards Tim Another thing you can do is twist the key on the car just so the dash board lights up and leave it like that for around one hour then the system will reset and you can try the code again. rgm
The hood release on my 1998 E320 wagon is under the dash next to the drivers door. It is also listed in the Owner's Manual.
First what kind of car is it, and model? Some of the Mercedes Benz can be differant with how you put the code in. First of all make absoluty certain that you have the correct code for the radio. This can be obtained from using the serial number on the radio, and getting the code from your dealer. Next input the radio code into the radio. Then this is where it can get tricky. Some cars will pop up with "set code" in the bottom right, and you just push the corresponding button below it to set the code. Some cars use the "SC", or scan button to set the code, (this is on older models) If you have the wrong code, and entered it, the radio will come up with a display of "wait" then you will be locked out for awhile before you can try it again. And if the wrong code is entered 3 times, its possible that you can be locked out for 24 - 48 hours. This is why having the correct code can save you a lot of time. Now all of this is for pretty much 98 and newer cars. If you have a older car, the process is differant. Open the trunk and release the fabric panel just behind the tail lights. Then you can see the bulb carrier, turn the center release lever 90 deg. to the right and pull out the carrier. Then you can replace the bulbs by pushing them down and turning to the right.
Next to the spare tire in the trunk.

run the car for a hour and then turn the key to the on position and push the number 2 and 3 button on radio and it will give you a four digit code. Write it down you will need this to get your next code to put in the radio for it to work
