Chances are really good that you are, eating, drinking, smoking and or using the wrong product for cleaning and caring for your lip piercing. Foods, beverages and some cleaning products can infact cause swelling of body piercings, this varies from person to person. What works for one person may not work for you. Over cleaning can also lead to swelling, your body needs to "do it's thing" in order to heal a piercing, over cleaning can actually irritate tissue that is trying to heal and promote swelling. Phone your Piercer or better yet go down and see him/her and be truthful when you talk to them, we can see through the lines of misinformation. If your piercer is good they will spend the time to help you out and fix what ever is wrong with the aftercare routeen. Good Luck

You just got your lip pierced yesterday and the whole stud was almost halfway in your lip because it was so swollen so you took the ring out Will you get an infection for taking it out so soon?
If the jewellery was clean you should be o.k.
