Check for broken wires. You can check for this using a simple cheap volt/ohm meter.
Broken wire or wire connection at the switch and/or fuse. You can check for any voltage present at those locations with a simple volt/ohm meter.
You have bad window switches. Remove and carefully disaasemble and clean the contacts of the switches. also you need to make sure fuse is in good shape. if its not the fuse,or switch, it might be the regulator is broken, is usually the case.
I have a 1972 Corvette and the power window relay is in the shifter console, just forward of the power window switches. I would believe it's in the same place in the '73. Good Luck
First, check that the window lock switch is not pressed. It is on the drivers door next to the four power window switches, it has a little picture of a door and window on it with an X through it. If the switch is pressed, only the driver can open and shut the windows, the switches on the other doors will not work. If the windows won't work at all, not even from the driver's door, make sure the fuse for the power windows is good. Replace it if you don't know how to check it, fuses are cheap.
You cannot manually close a power window. You must repair the problem causing it not to work. Check the fuse, power window switch, and if they are good, you may need a new motor.
Your are LSI model right? No there is not. window doesn't roll down or up. You might have bad window motor or switches. Check your door jamb wire connection that runs to the window motor. Good luck
you have to get the panels and the window regulator. get window switches and wire it all up good. you should be fine. a real pain, but it can be done.
I found a fix for this...Unplugging the negative battery cable for 15 minutes then reconnecting it did the trick. They both started working again. I read that it had to do with the BCM needing to be reset by killing power to it.
The 1998 Mercury power window relay switch can be found below the dashboard. The relay switch will be on the drivers side of the dashboard.
Hi, You will need to do a little troubleshooting with a test light or multimeter. If you have power to the main switches, then you will have to check the switches and the wiring for problems. I have included a link that gives the details of the power windows in this van. Good Luck, Greg
need some more information my friend The power window motors on a Protege are non-repairable items. Make sure the switches, fuses, and such are in good order before replacing the motor.
I found a broken wire in the wire bundle that goes from the drivers door to the body of the car. Its covered by a rubber boot.
