Noticing Transmission Fluid puddles under your car may definitely mean your transmission needs repair. You could look in your local phone book and call a transmission repair shop and ask them that question. Call several and get quotes or at least a free inspection of your transmission.
Puddles of transmission fluid under the car where ever you park.
well depends on how long it didnt have any fluid in it and if you noticed any damage noice or shifting difference. But yes it can really hurt your tranny if its messed up you can just get a rebuild kit for it and its not that expensive to repair or you can get used one.
My Haynes repair manual shows MERCON automatic transmission fluid
Your transmission's filter may be clogged, you may be low on transmission fluid, or the transmission may need repair or replacement. If the transmission was full of fluid, I would suggest a transmission flush, or replacing the transmission filter and fluid. If this doesn't help the transmission may actually be damaged and may need repair or replacement.
National Tire & Battery is a reliable place that will change your transmission fluid for you. They can also test your transmission fluid to let you know if it needs changing.
According to Haynes Repair Manual #36071, 1993-2005 Ford Ranger pickups, all models: Manual transmission fluid type is MERCON automatic transmission fluid.
means get it to a repair shop
No transmission fluid or fluid level is too low. If levels are fine, take to transmission repair shop.
The best thing to do is to take it to a repair shop that has a transmission flushing machine. That will change all of the fluid in the system.
TRANSMISSION!!!!!!!!, TRANSMISSION. First check the level of transmission fluid and if there is fluid in there ( to check fluid warm up engine and check the level with the transmission in PARK and the engine must be running) smell the fluid if it has a burnt smell and is dark then you may have fried your transmission. A transmission repair can be expensive so please get at least three repair quotes. DEAD tranny man........
