check thealternator. the battery signal in your dashboard is not actuallyfor thebattery butforthealternator. if youralternator is good, thebattery signal will signoff. the squealingsound maybe comesfrom thebelt that rotates the alternator.
I would suspect one of two things. Either the replacement belt is not the correct size or the belt tensioner is bad. The squealing sounds like a loose belt which would also account for the battery light. possible bad battery causing the alternator to work too hard
When they are worn out or causing a problem eg cracked, squealing etc..

It could be the bearing in your tension pulley.

disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes, if it comes back on after you drive the computer is getting an error code from the engine check the codes to see whats causing it
