You have recently been cast as gertie Cummings in a play of Oklahoma and you don't know how to get her laugh perfect please help?

I'm also playing Gertie next month and I'm not ashamed to say, I found Janice from Friends a great inspiration. Could she BE any more annoying?? I played around with all sorts of laughs and noises while on the drive to work before reaching a whoop ha ha I was happy with. There's folk in white coats wielding straight jackets on my route to work these days but it was worth it. Oh my goodness! Gertie Cummings is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE character in Oklahoma!!!!! Ok-as for the laugh, there are several approaches. Personally, I enjoy Gertie laughs that onsist of: a shriek followed by a series of descending shrill shriekish things. However, you may also want to try: -Shrieking and laughing in head voice -Taking your own laugh and exaggerating it -See if you have the "Hugh Jackman" Laugh (in the production of Oklahoma with Hugh Jackman, the Gertie's laugh was FABULOUS. It was like spongebob only it was longer and it was in head voice) however only a few people have the ability to produce the sound. -Make strange noises and see how you can make them into laughs. GOOD LUCK!!! And have fun! Gertie is my favorite part in the show and one of the more fun character roles to play!
