Yes, absent periods are a normal side effect of Mirena.
Most Dr's will tell you to wait until you've had 1 normal period.
Why haven't i gotten my period for two months? can it be do to stress? or something else? i have the mirena... for a year now....
You can get the IUD inserted anytime the health care provider can be reasonably sure you're not pregnant.
Completely normal. One of the ways Mirena works is by thinning the lining of your uterine walls, which are what causes your period. It will lighten your period by around 90%. In some women it goes away completely. S
If you have the copper IUD (Paragard in the US), you will get a period. If you have the Mirena IUD, containing progestin, your period will likely stop after a few months of irregular bleeding.
I've had the Mirena for almost six months now and it is normal for your period to decrease. From what I have read they should balance out within the first 6 - 12 months and are standarly lighter and in some cases (1 out of 5) you don't have a period! As for the sore breast, I've also experienced the same thing and is usual around the time I have my monthly cycle. It sounds like you are experiencing normal side effects from the Mirena BUT don't take my word for it. If you think you could be pregnant it's better to be safe and have it checked out.
I am sorry to hear that you are having a bad time with the Mirena. I too had the Mirena and experienced the same issues as yourself over an 8 month period. It turned out that I had several oversized Fibroids and the Mirena did not help with the stemming of heavy bleeding. I had my Mirena removed and subsequently the Fibroids - best thing I ever did. I know they say it can work instantly or may take a couple of months, but it depends on how long you want to continue with things they way they are. Good luck with which ever dicision you make.
You can have your period up to 6 month's your period will slow down to just spotting in time.Around 8 months it will stop from time to time you may spot
No
Yes, after Mirena is removed, you will ovulate about 14 days before you have your first period.
After having the Mierna removed you may have had a withdrawal bleed, not necessarily menstruation as part of a menstrual cycle. Upon coming off hormonal birth control it is normal to have irregular cycles for up to 12 months while your body regulates itself, a few months without a period is normal but if concerned after three months talk to your doctor.
The Mirena IUD causes most people to stop having a period, so yes, this is normal.
