When your rear trailing arm (rear control arm) are bad you will hear a clunking noise when going over bumps and potholes .... This noise is louder and more noticible while you have passengers in the rear seats..... You will also hear your tires squeek a little on turns

My 2003 cts has "differentail noise"not wheel noise. I hear its somewhat common. Unfortunately rear end failure is somewhat common. I have had the same noise for years, and I am at 130,000 mi. No failure The answer to your question is that when the transmission stays in the lower gear due to not having got your speed up, the noise will happen... it`s not due to a mechanical problem.
The person you have locked in the trunk is car sick but kind enough to warn you before puking on the carpet.
"Did you hear that noise?" -or- "Did you not hear that noise I just heard?"
There are many reasons as to what may cause a roaring noise in a rear end 1997 Infinity. However, this could be the brake system or needing a new catalytic converter.
Could be a bad strut or shock No I have disconnected both rear shocks and knocking noise is still there whilst driving. Seems to be coming from rear. When stationary I can bounce rear of car up and down and hear noise with handbrake on but not with handbrake off. Any ideas?
make noise when turn any side
A clanking noise in the rear of a Renault Scenic could mean the rear wheel bearings need to be replaced or greased. A clanking noise in the rear of any vehicle can be a problem with the rear end gears, the drive shaft, or even a lug nut that came loose and is clanking around inside the hubcap.
Maybe it's coming from the rear brakes.
