You just caght your 5 yr old and a 4 yr old boy tuching each other on the privite your son said his brain told him to do it and said he was sorry is this normal what do you do?

Try to understand that he's just five. He has alot of questions and he's really curious. First of all, find out if there's anything that could have made him think that. Like if he's been exposed to magazines or movies or things on TV (especially commercials because those suckers pop up and they're so explicit these days) or even if he's seen you and your husband or boyfriend being intimate. Make sure you as a parent acct as a filter and see that he is not exposed to this imagery again.

Second, talk to him about why he has voices. Assure him that you're not angry but that what he did was inappropriate. Explain that the only person who should see or touch his private areas are himSELF when he's in the shower or in the bathroom. If you're comfortable, have a pee-wee birds&bees talk. Explain that those body parts are not meant to be shown off and only mommies and daddies know what they're for. If he asks why just keep telling him that he'll understand when he gets older and if he doesn't understand by then, that you'll explain it to him yourself when he's old enough.

Also explain to him that the other boys parents might be upset if they saw what you saw and they might not be able to be friends anymore.

Just be calm, it doesn't mean anything. And it doesn't say anything about your parenting. He's just curious. It happens from time to time. Kids do weird stuff. He'll probably forget all about this and move on to something new and crazy in a month. Another day, another drama.
