NO! If you want, you can just buy Dragon Age Awakening. Awakening is no where near as long as Origins since it is basically a DLC, but you can make a brand new character in awakening. It will start you off at level 20 so you arnt getting killed by a weak darkspawn every time you turn around. It's pretty much just like starting a brand new character, just with an auto level up to get you started. Hope this helped! =)
