You place your computer in hibernation and it turns off One minute later it comes out of hibernation How do you correct that?

It sounds like another program is trying to work in the background. Try turning off any scheduled tasks like scan disk or defragmenter. Also make sure you disable any Anti-virus and even the screensaver. The hibernation feature in XP has always been problematic. My suggestion is to not use that feature. Just turn off you monitor, as it is the energy hog.

If it is windows Vista, just try logging off and turning off the screen. It's easier and les glitchy.
