If you're really scared, ask a friend to ask one of his friends! It sounds very primary school-ish, but it works! Or if you can't be stuffed doing that, just ask a friend that you trust to tell him straight out: 'ya da da likes you! Would you go out with her?' But it's best if you ask yourself, then he'll know you're serious.
