You smell smoke in your 92 Lexus es300 when you pop the hood there is nothing you have bad CV axle's could it be them?

a cv joint doesn't produce much heat. could be if the boot is split and the grease inside is flicking on your exhaust and smoldering. when grease smolders it stinks real bad.
