You are the only one that will be able to get a duplicate title. Since he never titled it, it still shows that you are the owner. When you go to the dmv to get a duplicate title, ask them what the laws are in your state for this situation. The person you sold it to a couple of years ago will probably want you to sell it straight to the person that he is selling it to so that he doesnt have to pay the sales tax and property taxes on it, but if you do that, you may be responsible for paying the back property taxes, so make sure you ask them.
