Limewire is free to download, you only have to pay for the faster edition. Go to the limewire site and download the basic version. Jim( it works well but is a bit slower)

Hi Although the initial download of Limewire is free, the people who wrote Limewire want you to buy Limewire Pro, which is not free. The pro version, they say, will give you access to millions more songs and sources that you don't get with the free version. So unless you search for really mainstream artists like the horrible James Blunt song you aren't likely to get that many hits. Whether the pro version is worth the money I don't know. There are other things you can try like EMule and Bittorrent.
How do you get free music on LimeWire?
Either download the free version of LimeWire or LimeWire Pro (which costs approximately $20AU). Run the program, which is very self explanatory. Key in the artist, or song, or both, and a search is done automatically. When you find what you want, double click on the song and it will start downloading.

This is due to Copyright and the fact that music from limewire is licensed. Apple do not want there music illegally download from file sharing places.
