To become good at something you have to study it. So in your case the best thing to do would be for you take lessons in music and get voice training. The truth is that most of the singers that are popular today are mediocre singers at best. Never the less singing to them is a business and they must have the drive and the knowledge to market them selves. So The thing to do is Learn Music, Learn to sing, learn about marketing yourself and work at it because you cant count on luck to get you where you want to be.
