No, You have to give IIT-JEE to get into IIT. However, you can get into:- 1. National Institutes of Technology(NIT) 2. Indian Institute of Information Technology(IIITs) 3. Private Colleges without Donation
About 2.52 lakh students took IIT-JEE 2007 across the country. This entrance test was for 4,600 seats in the seven IITs. According to The Times of India, IIT-JEE 2007 cut-offs fell to single digits. In 2006, the cutoff marks in maths, physics and chemistry were 37, 48 and 55 respectively. The corresponding marks for IIT-JEE 2007 fell to as low as 1, 4 and 3. This has opened up the possibility of students making it to the merit list of IIT-JEE despite scoring nearly zero in the crucial test in mathematics. The responses given by IITs to RTI applications show that the cutoffs declined in that manner because of a radical change in the procedure for calculating them. The change was introduced in 2007 after the authorities failed to explain to the Central Information Commission how they had arrived at the cutoffs for the previous year's examination.
The Portions of IITJEE are generally based on CBSE Class 11 and Class 12 Syllabus but you must join some good coaching Institute like FIITJEE, Bansal Classes, Brilliant Tutorials, Aakash IITJEE etc.. to boost your chances of getting into IIT.Then after completing your class 12 you have to write the IITJEE Exam and clear it. Then you will be able to get admission in IIT.

JEE advanced rank is based upon JEE (60%)+ board result (40%) Only Top 1,50,000 students will be eligible for IIT's. Rest they can apply to other institutes and universities. Some of the top Institutes for engineering degree are: 1.All NIT's 2.BITS Pilani 3. Lovely Professional University

1 year is sufficient time to prepare for IITs. Dictating the number of hours without knowing your level of Preparations is very difficult. Typically top 100 rankers have been found to study 16 hours a day. Focusiing on your fundamentals is the key and you have to clear all the fundamentals and decide how much time you need to do that.
obviously anand vihar.......its better than that of south delhi #1 pitampura #2 anand vihar...all the best
