Just leave the green bean pods on the vine until they look old. They will discolor and look shriveled. Then, open them & take the beans out. If any of the beans are damp, let them lay on a paper towel until they dry out. If they look dry you can store them for next year.

Is green beans fruit or vegetable?

They are both. Green beans are the immature seed containing structures of beans that develop from the flowers of the plant. Since "fruit" is scientifically defined as "a part of a flowing plant that derives from specific tissues of the flower, mainly one or more ovaries", green bean are technically fruit. However, the term "vegetable" (unlike fruit) is not a term based in biology, but rather on culinary and cultural tradition. As such green beans are also considered vegetables.

Can I take the beans from inside of a green bean and plant them to make green beans?

Yes, the seeds inside of green beans are just like the seeds inside any other plant. If you take care of the plants correctly, and if they are planted in good soil, with appropriate amounts of sunlight and water, a green bean plant should sprout from the seeds. But if you're talking about canned or cooked beans no, if you use garden grown beans yes. But be sure to let them reach maturity, leaving them on the plant until they start to turn brown. Or pick when full grown, and dry them well. Take from robust plants if possible.
