It was worth one dollar. If you want to know what it was worth against the currency of an African country, you have to know which country you are asking about.
If you just want to know the value look up the exchange rate for the other currency. If you want to actually exchange for the other currency most banks can do it for you (or tell you of another bank in the area that can if they don't handle the currency you want themselves). If you have an ATM card that is accepted where you are going, you can draw out currency at the ATM's in foreign countries and usually get a better rate than at local banks. VISA and Master Charge are accepted in many foreign countries and give you a good rate.
All you need to do is go to Google and type in 6000000 peso to dollar And hit Search. The very first answeris the current currency conversion rate, which as of today (Feb 15, 2008) is 6 000 000 Mexican pesos = 557 664 U.S. dollars edit: Forgot to mention, you can do this for ANY currency. Simply follow the same format, which is to Where amount = how much you want to know to convertoriginal type = the original currency (such as "Mexican Pesos")Conversion type = what currency you want to know it's worth in Google is a wonderful thing, isn't it? ;-)

It is 25 cents. If you want to know its value in another currency you will need to specify which currency you want it to be valued in.
In France in the 1920s the currency was called the French Franc. In England the currency was called the Pound Sterling. As you can see you need to be more specific about which country's currency you want to know about.

I am not sure what you want to know. Before independence, British currency was used in all the colonies and was the national currency. After independence, the continental congress coined money which was a national currency. People did not fully trust the new currency and British currency was used as well.

20 Euros is 20 Euros. It can be spent anywhere in the 2 countries which use the Euro. If you want to know how much this is in another currency, you will have to say which currency.
