Never unhook the battery with the ignition turned on. There is always a little voltage spike that occurs when disconnecting or reconnecting the battery. If the ignition is on the computer will be powered up and that spike could "fry" the computer.

How do you take out the interference caused by plugging the power-cord into the HP DV6000 laptop or any laptop for that matter and causing flickering problems with an external syncmaster lcd?

Unplug the powercord and run on battery. I have an external that flickers with the cord in so i uplug it for awhile and it fixes it. Ive heard a two prong power cord fixes the problem.

The Radiator fan in your 92 accord is staying on all the time even 1 hr after engine shutdown If you uplug the relay or fuse it shuts off Where is the temp switch located?

I believe the switch is on the passenger side of the motor near the distributor cap. It's towards the firewall side of the distributor. There are two gray connectors with a bunch of wires coming out of the top. Below and behind that is the fan switch. Very hard to see. Mine is light green and cylindrical. Good luck!

How do you replace the alternator on a 97 Isuzu Rodeo?

DISCONNECT BATTERY FIRST!!!!!. The alternator is located on the passenger side of the motor at the bottom. There is a bracket attached to the motor and the alternator. You need not take the bracket off to remove the alternator. Two bolts hold the alternator to the bracket. One bolt is on the front top of the alternator and one bolt is located on the bottom front of the alternator. The bottom front bolt is attached to the tension adjustment for the alternator. Loosen the tension screw then remove the bolt going through the tension adjustment. After you loosen the top, front bolt, the alternator should be loose enough to move side to side. Remove the top, front bolt. Now you must disconnect the alternator from the power supply. Behind the alternator is a screw with a wire attached via nut. Remove this wire. Nextly there is a series of wires with a plug on the end. It is plugged into the side of the alternator. Uplug this item. You can also access both of these from the passenger side front tire well.Something to consider is that remanufactured alternators in Rodeo's as well as the Honda Passport (which has the same engine as the Rodeo) do not work and the problem(s) associated with a bad alternator,ie; not charging, no fan blower, battery light and brake light on, still exist after replacing alternator with reman. Use a factory original alternator if possible. It will cost a little more than a reman but will most likely save you a lot of time and headache!Hope this helps you out!!

How do you change the heater coil in a 1998 Plymouth breeze?

Pull the plastic guard out from under the glove box...you can see where the wires plug into the heat duct system. There are 2 screws holding the coil block unit in the duct(use 5/16 nut driver). Pull the heating coil unit out and uplug the wires...(most times it's the diode that buns out on the unit)

How do you change an alternator in a 1988 jeep?

To remove ours we had to go underneath and take it out that way. Once we got all the bolts out we had to take off the brackets to get it to drop out. Installation is the reverse of removal. Quite a PITA!!!

If a 95 Nissan Pathfinder loses power on ascent and the computer diagnostic shows a 33 code does the oxygen sensor need to be changed?

code 33 is for the exhaust gas sensor (also known as the O2 sensor) if the computer is coding a 33 it does need to be changed. You can also uplug the sensor at the connector and if the truck runs better that's a good indication that the sensor is bad. The connector is on the passanger side fender wall with about 3 other connectors and it is on the bottom of the group with 3 wires running to the sensor.

very simple 1. uplug power to the fuel pump it is under the rear seat and carpet on the pasenger side start the car to get all the fuel pressure out of the line the car should die quite quickly 2. locate your fuel filter on the firewall, reomove anything you think you need to get access to it. 3. remove old filter, this is a real pain, use two wrenches to do this one on the filter and one on the connection to counter it 4. put in the new filter hook everything up drive!

Where is heater resistor block located on 2000 Chrysler Cirrus?

12/12/08 The resistor block is located on the passenger side lower dash. Pull off the plastic heater cover (2 tabs on each side (L&R) ) to expose the heater motor and heater resistor pack. it is rectangular about 1"x 3". Disconnect you Battery first. Uplug the wire from the resistor pack Remove the 2 screws on both sides and it will pull right out. Replace in reverse order and you should be good to go until it goes out again? Well I have replaced this blower motor resistor 4 times. It cost about $50 bucks at your so friendly Chrysler dealer. I just ordered another one from www.rockauto.com for about $16 bucks! Had several brands too, I bought a GM Part this time! There is only 1 real resistor in this thing and I am going to measure the resistance before I install it, If it fails again I am going to get a bigger wattage resistor and fix it myself! Tired of this insanity! My life is not going to center around a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus!! Merry Christmas! Bobw5bw

If the alarm remote control on your 98 vw passat doesn't work how can I start the car without the alarm going off if I don't have an extra main key to reprogram the remote?

Your going to have to find the "valet switch". All alarms should have one. Its just a little black button most of the time usually put in somewhere inconvenient so thiefs cant find it. If there isn't one your going to have to find the brain and uplug everything. The brain should be somewhere under the panel below your steering column so your gonna have to take off the panel. Those are really the only two options, other than that go to a professional. Dont mess with any of the wires or your liable to really screw somthin up.
