Just had this problem with our 95 and it's obd1. Our rear defroster overheated and took out some of the electrics in the wiring harness under the dash. Auto elec fixed it and tada....now the computer at the smog station talks to it again.
all cars manufactured in the us after 1996 use obd2
AnswerWith an OBD2 scan tool.Possibly by unhooking the battery.
I believe it was obd1.
yes all cars made in 1996 and newer are obd2
OBD1, OBD2 didn't start until i believe 1996
No, obdII started in 1996.
The OBD2 plug is located under the drink holder under the center console.
All cars and light trucks built and sold in the United States after January 1, 1996 were required to be OBD II equipped. In general, this means all 1996 model year cars and light trucks are compliant, even if built in late 1995. However there is no guarentee your 1996 is OBD2. Some early 1996 Nissan Maxima's were OBD1 and later models were OBD2. The OBD2 connector is a 16 pin connector and is almost always located on the driver's side under the dash.
obd1 is basically a computer system in your car there is obd1 and obd2. obd1 is 1996 and earlier while obd2 is 1997 to now
OBD2
OBD II came out in 1996 and up.
More than likely there is not one. OBD2 was not used really until 1996. Very few 1995 cars deal with OBD2
