Depends on elevation of where you live and climate. 38mpg that they get, is tested in perfect condtions. If you live in a hot climate, that means the motor runs hotter and burns more fuel. Also if you have larger tires than stock, it causes worse mpg. Could really be any of a number of things, but just hard to say. Or you could also try and run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner through the fuel system to unclog the fuel injectors.
