If your 1993 Pontiac Grand Am will not shift into part, the transmission is probably seized up. The first step is ensuring the Transmission Fluid is not too low.

Why wont your 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix shift out of park?

shift lock is malfunctioning. you can bypass it there is a little "switch" on the side of your shifter for this purpose. that should help temporarily i believe there is a sensor to tell it when to shift out of park and that when this malfunctions you're stuck in park

2003 Pontiac grand prix will not shift out of park?

CHECK THE FEUS BOX IT SHOULD BE THE ONE UNDER THE HOOD OR CHECK YOUR MANUAL IN FEUS SECTION I am not so sure about the above answer. There is a switch attached to your brake. That may be bad. Then there is the shift lock solenoid under you shifter. You can manually open it and it will allow you to shift out of park. To fix that part you must by it from GM. And it is like 300 bucks. I just disabled the shift lock. Works everyday.

Is there a way to bypass the switch that allows the shifter to shift out of park when you depress the brake on a 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis?

Find the switch attached to the brake pedal for the shift interlock and jump the two wires together. Be careful not to disconnect the brake light switch
